Bearing in mind the last 2 years and the prolonged state of uncertainty we are all living in right now, it’s perhaps unsurprising that so many people find themselves in a near constant state of worry.
But let’s pause for a moment.
Just because we all worry at times doesn’t mean we should accept that we have to.
Worrying involves us trying to solve puzzles that we cannot solve.
Worrying involves us trying to predict the outcome of things we cannot predict.
Worrying involves trying to change things that are not ours to change.
These testing and challenging times require us to be at our best. Let’s not waste our emotional energy pondering the things we cannot possibly know or influence.
The next time you catch yourself worrying... remind yourself that whilst that’s ok and totally understandable (nobody is beating themselves up for being concerned, right?) there is always the option to focus on the things we CAN change, and the things we CAN control.
Encourage your mind to take this other, more productive route.
This will help clear your head, and ultimately reduce anxiety.
