Anxiety has been with us for as long as we can remember.
That’s not because we have always been ill... but because anxiety is an important and functional emotional response.
To feel anxious about something we regard as important is perfectly healthy. In fact to not feel anxious about something we regard as important would be weird!
This is why it’s ok to embark upon your week thinking about the things you have coming up and be in some way anxious about them.
It tells you you’re alive and that you care!
Anxiety is part of what our mind does to focus us on the important stuff.
So this week when you take something on that you’re anxious about, don’t waste time and energy focusing on the fact that you feel anxious.
That’s normal.
Every important (and many unimportant) thing you have ever done has come with some kind of anxiety response.
Anxiety won’t stop you doing this.
It will help you focus on it.
