YOUR MIND IS NOT A JUGGLER

One of the biggest causes of high anxiety is the feeling of overwhelm.

Too often we experience the sense of having too many things to do and not enough time to do them.

This causes anxiety to spike as the different parts of our mind, all trying to get different things done start to compete for attention.

However, it’s important to remember that regardless of what we might have been told, human beings are not naturally great at multi-tasking.
In fact, trying to do more than one thing at once is the surest way of achieving nothing!

When we feel overwhelmed it isn’t actually because we have too many things to do today... it’s because we’re trying to take them all on at once.

EVEN A JUGGLER ONLY HOLDS ONE BALL AT A TIME.

There are two simple steps to eradicating overwhelm and reducing anxiety:
1. Stop trying to solve puzzles that aren’t yours to solve (in other words, stop worrying about the things that are out of your control).
2. Take your daily tasks one at a time. Give your full attention to one single thing after another.

Not only does this reduce anxiety, it also enables you to get more done in the day, and to perform each task to a higher quality.

When you think about it... ...wasn’t that actually what your mind was trying to do anyway?
