WHEN YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED...

We all feel overwhelmed at times.

We don’t get to decide when the challenges arrive on our doorstep, and the universe isn’t trying to line things up in a neat order for you (sorry...but it’s not).

So, yeah at some point we all end up in that situation where we have too much to do and not enough time to do it.

However, everyone that I have ever seen regarding overwhelm has always been making either or both of the following mistakes:
1. Worrying about things that are out of their control (maybe even spending time and energy trying to bring these things into their control).
2. Looking at their list of tasks as a whole and in some way trying to juggle everything at once.

The very simple solution to this issue is to break down your daily tasks to one thing at a time. Stop looking at the list and focus only on the next single thing on it.

When we perceive multiple things to do there is a part of us that will instantly recognise our inability to effectively do more than one thing at a time. We can multi-talk to a degree, but it’s not how we work best.

We might be able to juggle three balls at once... but when someone throws us a fourth we’ll probably drop the lot!!

Whilst this is a simple strategy it’s not necessarily easy to implement and is going to require you to be ok with these two simple truths:
1. I can’t fix the things that are out of my control.
2. I might not get everything done today.

If you can accept these two ideas then you can start to take things one at a time... and you can stop feeling overwhelmed.
